SDB Network News

May 25, 2010

SDB Network (you know, Shoe-a-Day Blog?) News is bringing the latest news that’s a shoe-in to the fashion-savvy out there.

Over the weekend, 6pm.com (one of my favorite online shopping destinations) did something to make shoppers happy and the corporate honcos cry into their $20 cups of coffee. A pricing mistake on the site (which is the sister site to Zappos.com)

According to WWD, “from midnight to 6 a.m. Friday, the majority of items listed on the site — which typically sells products at discounts of up to 70 percent off — had a price cap of $49.95. The problem was eventually corrected, but the company still suffered a loss of more than $1.6 million in sales during that six-hour time frame.”

Looking through 6pm.com today, I’m wishing I had been online during that time, because I would have purchased these for just $49.95!

Left: Jean Paul Gaultier Wedgest, currently $399 at 6pm. Right: Sigerson Morrison, currently $341 at 6pm.

Too bad I missed out! Did anyone score some awesome deals?

Why do these things always happen during the middle of the night? This is amazing! I would have bought a couple pairs.

I know! I was actually HOME and awake during that time, and I can’t believe I wasn’t shoe-surfing at the time. So sad!
