From the Rouge to Real Life

April 1, 2010

As promised, for sitting through my crazy antics in that other post, here’s some shoe-details from Moulin Rouge.

I love the costumes from Moulin Rouge….Including the shoes! Glitter, Rhinestones, Strappy,  you name it, I love it.

How about a description? “ shoes by Donna May Bolinger. Pale pink satin shoes with 3″ heels, pointed toes and a T-bar strap. The front of the shoe has a pattern of diamantes of various shapes in gold settings spreading out in a star shape from a central point; a line of diamantes also continues up the strap. The strap fastens with a large diamante.”

Here’s a real, live version that’s available to purchase! ($99.95 by Nina shoes. )

This is the first big number for Satine…she drops down from a trapeze, singing and driving the men crazy from above.

The description: “…black suede healed shoes, with pointed toes, decorated with diamantes. The 4″/10cm stiletto heal is also covered in black suede, around the top of the heel is a ring of rectangular cut diamantes set in silver colored metal. A narrow black suede strap, which fastens with a small silver buckle, runs all the way round the shoe and is fixed on by a piece of leather stuck over it on the sole. There is a border which runs from half way down the outside edge of the shoe, to cross over the upper, which is decorated with silver diamantes of different sizes and 3 star-shaped jewels set with diamantes.”

Here’s a real, live version that’s available to purchase! ($81.60 at shoes.com)

These shoes were reaaaally hard to find. They’re there, I swear.

The description: “Pair of cream sandals by Sergio Rossi, Italy in a size 38. They have very narrow cream thong straps and a small leather section at the heel, which have straps running through to cross over the foot and then fasten on the outside with a small silver buckle. They have black soles with a 1cm heel.”

Here’s a real, live version that’s available to purchase! ($39.99 at Clarks)

I love the costumes from Moulin Rouge….Including the shoes!

A second look, just for fun. No description necessary.

Here’s a real, live version that’s available to purchase! ($44.96 at Gotham City Online)

Go forth and party hardy my fellow shoe-obsessed people!

Thanks to Suze for helping do the research for this post!
